As you might know that Bali, Indonesia’s most famous island, has reopened for international tourists starting from 04th February 2022 but international travelers who arrive into the country will have to undergo 5 days of Quarantine upon their arrival.

However, travelers who have taken only one shot of the Covid-19 vaccine will have to undergo a 7-day quarantine.

Bali Planning To End Quarantine

Now, the Indonesian government is considering removing quarantine restrictions and implementing a visa-on-arrival scheme for international travelers. According to a top minister, the administration plans to launch a trial on incoming travelers without quarantine but under strict circumstances.

The push for the removal of the necessary 5-day quarantine and the reinstatement of visa-on-arrival (VoA) is also supported by the country’s top leaders. Due to Bali’s extensive and costly quarantine, most European travelers are avoiding the island for the time being.

Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, indicated in a press conference that the trial might start before March 14 if there is a positive development in the next week.

Guidelines For International Travelers To Bali

  • Foreign travelers need to show their proof of hotel booking payments for at least four days.
  • Travelers wishing to enter Bali must be fully vaccinated or must have received booster jabs.
  • RT PCR tests will be conducted at the entry and travelers will have to wait for their negative results at the hotel.
  • On the third day of their arrival, travelers will have to conduct another RT PCR test at their hotels.

If the test is negative, travelers will be allowed to engage in other activities as long as they follow health regulations.

Bali has been chosen for this pilot project study since the rate of two-dose immunization is higher here than in any other province in Indonesia.

It is worth mentioning that the Indonesian government will expand the quarantine-free travel policy across the country on or before April 1 if the trial is successful.
