The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Saudi Arabia on Monday announced the implementation of new procedures for the entry of all non-Saudi citizens following the statement of the interior ministry quarantine procedures.

The GACA issued a circular to all airlines operating in the Kingdom’s airports and said that all unvaccinated travelers will have to pay the expenses for their institutional quarantine and the cost will be included in the ticket price with a valid health insurance policy to cover the risks that may result from infection with the Coronavirus (COVID 19).

The GACA stressed on the air carriers to ensure all travelers over the age of 8 barring Saudi citizens or other exempted groups must carry coronavirus test certificates approved in the Kingdom not exceeding 72 hours from the scheduled flight departure.

Also, the exempted groups who received full doses of one of the vaccines approved by the Ministry of Health, to enter the Kingdom without the need for a quarantine period, provided they present an official vaccination certificate before and upon their arrival.

The aviation authority has also obligated air carriers to sign a contract with accommodation facilities approved by the Ministry of Tourism to accommodate travelers who are not Saudi citizens and excluded groups who meet the conditions of institutional quarantine for a period of seven days, provided that a swab is done on the sixth day and the result is negative.

It is important to note that these new entry procedures will be in effect from Thursday, May 20, 2021.
