Emirates, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates on Sunday further extends the flight suspension between India and UAE till 30th June 2021.

Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

However, UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas, and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the revised published COVID‑19 protocols will be exempt from travel.

Earlier, Emirates has announced the suspension of all inbound flights for national and international carriers coming from India amidst a massive surge in COVID-19 cases in India.

UAE has announced the restrictions for 10 days starting from 11.59 pm on April 24 but the authorities keep extended the same and now the suspension has extended till 30th June 2021.

Emirates offering following options for cancelled bookings:

  • Keep your ticket for a future flight.
    • You don’t need to call us if you choose to keep your ticket for future flights. You can get all the information on the “Keep your ticket” option here. Please contact your booking office when you are ready to travel.
  • Rebook your flight to another date
    • For rebooking please contact your travel agent or booking office.

Some golden visa holders from India have managed to return on private jets and regular passenger flights from the UAE on their return leg. Some other Indian expats had also returned on private jets.

UAE residents, including many fully vaccinated expats, who are stuck back home, have been eagerly waiting to return to their workplaces and families here.

Who Can Travel To UAE From India?

UAE citizens, diplomatic delegations, official delegations, and flights of businessmen are the categories that are exempted from this restriction.

Also, travelers coming from India through other countries are required to provide proof of a period of stay in those countries of no less than 14 days to be allowed to enter the UAE.

RT-PCR Test Requirement

The Dubai Health Authorities also announced that starting from 22nd April 2021, all passengers traveling from India to Dubai will be required to take a Covid – 19 RT – PCR test within 48 hours before departure and all tests must be administered by accredited laboratories that issue results carrying a QR code.
