The Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on Friday announced that starting from 14th June, inter-state travelers will not require to show a negative RT-PCR test to enter into the state.

Himachal Pradesh has also increased the shop opening timings from 9 am to 5 pm from June 14, the announcement comes as the state govt has decided to ease the existing Covid-19 restrictions.

Moreover, intra-state public transport has been allowed to operate with 50 percent occupancy, thus allowing easy commuting options to the local population.

“Himachal Pradesh Cabinet decides to increase shop opening timings from 9 am-5 pm from June 14 with shops remaining closed on weekends. Offices can function with 50% staff. Intrastate public transport allowed with 50% occupancy. No requirement of RT-PCR tests for entering the State.”

Tourists Must Follow The Protocols

In a bid to promote safer tourism in the Himalayan state, the government has asked hotels to ensure that tourists strictly follow the hygiene guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Tourism. 

Swimming pools, auditoriums, and gyms within hotel premises have been asked to remain closed, according to the strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the state government on June 6.

“All the medical colleges, ayurvedic colleges, and dental colleges will open from June 23. Pharmacy and nursing schools will open from June 28. Now there will be no requirement of RT-PCR negative tests for entering the state,” the state government spokesperson said.
