Leading full-service carrier Vistara is now permitted to operate scheduled international flights, charter passenger, and cargo services between India and the United States (US) as the airlines get approval US’s Department of Transportation (DOT).
It is worth mentioning that Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines backed Vistara on 28th April 2021, filed with the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) to request permission to operate scheduled flights between India and the United States.
According to some media reports, Vistara aims to start scheduled flight services between India and the US in early September 2021 using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
“We confirm that Vistara has reached out to the relevant authorities in the United States of America to secure permissions to commence operations to the US. While we have received the temporary Foreign Air Carrier Permit from the Department of Transportation, USA, the process is still ongoing. We shall be sharing further details at an appropriate time,” said Vistara spokesperson said.
